About This Piece
A modern take on a classic style, our Maimouna Tie-Dye Maxi Dress will be your favorite summer dress. Made with soft cotton gauze fabric ethically sourced in Mauritania and hand-dyed in Senegal, this piece has a black and white tie-dye pattern, buttons throughout and yes it comes with pockets! Perfect for summer or layered up with a T-shirt under it when fall hits. Wear it as a dress or a duster; this versatile piece will look great with everything.
Maimouna's Story: The fabric for the Maimouna Maxi was ethically sourced in Mauritania and shipped to Senegal for Production. The white cotton gauze fabric was hand-dyed in Senegal, using traditional Senegalese Thioup (tie-and-dye) methods. Once dyed, the fabric is washed several times to prevent bleeding and sealed with a traditional pressing method. Maimouna was expertly stitched by a male tailor who owns his own business and has a small number of employees.
